Cultural Diversity Day - January 2025

On Thursday 16th January we had a Cultural Diversity Day in school.    This was a special day where all children and staff could celebrate the culture, art, religion, language and food of the children in school.

Children came to school dressed in the colours or flag of their country or in cultural clothing and brought  in some music/art or something special about their culture to share with their classmates.

At lunchtime there was a special lunch menu.  including:

  • Jerk chicken
  • Moroccan chickpea and squash stew with butter baby pots
  • coconut rice
  • corn on the cobb
  • Churros and a range of deserts

We would like to thank parents for  supporting  us on this special day.

The day provided  opportunities for children to share pride and knowledge of their heritage and develop an acceptance and respect for other cultures and beliefs.

Year 5 and 6 did a great job leading our school Harvest Festival on October 8th 2024.  It was lovely welcome parents of Year 5 and 6 in as well to Worship with us.  As usual we were overwhelmed by the generosity of the community with Harvest Donations.  All of these will go to Oldham Food Bank.
