Our class teacher is Ms Razaq.
We have settled in to year four extremely well and have embraced the challenge of developing into independent learners.
Our Writing lessons this year will be based on picture books and our Reading lessons will focus on fluency and reading gems. Our Maths will follow the NCETM progression along with Maths Shed with a heavy focus on times tables. Our learning units this year will take place in blocks. Please see the curriculum overview.
We will cover, Ancient Egypt, Black History, Earthquakes and Volcanoes, Mapping, Energy/Features of the UK and Recycling.
We will be addressing and learning any missed knowledge from Covid19 in all curriculum areas whilst teaching the Year 4 Curriculum. Your child will also sit the Times Tables Test this Summer.
This year we will also have an opportunity to meet and work in collaboration with children from St Thomas Werneth which is very exciting,
This year:
PE will take place on a Monday
Music will take place on a Tuesday
Swimming will take place on a Friday
Homework will be allocated via DB Primary or Edshed on a Monday ready for the following Monday and will consist of times tables, spelling and learning unit activities.
Spelling tests will be weekly and take place on a Monday.
Reading book bags will be given out daily which must be brought back into school on a daily basis.
