Safeguarding
St Hugh's is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
To ensure all our children are kept safe we have a child protection policy and procedures in place, that all staff are aware of. Everybody in our school follows these procedures.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a childs welfare.
We will ensure that our concerns about pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the childs welfare.
We have a number of Safeguarding Officers in our school who will investigate any concerns that are brought to us. Our Safeguarding Officers are:
- Mrs Lisic - Head teacher - Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Miss Bowler- Deputy Head teacher - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Miss Dane - Family Liason Officer - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Mrs Harding - SENCO - Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
If you have any questions about this or you would like to see the full school policy, please contact the school office.

Operation Encompass
From October 2018 school began implementing a project that runs jointly between schools and Greater Manchester Police. This project is called Operation Encompass. It aims to support children who are affected by domestic violence by ensuring that their school is informed. This allows the school to support the children. If you have any other questions about this project, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
