St Hugh's CofE Primary School

Children are expected to be clean and neatly dressed. We believe that they should be dressed for the job they are doing and that school is a place of work. Our school uniform is as follows:

• children should wear a grey pinafore, shorts, skirt or trousers with a white polo shirt and a royal blue jumper/cardigan and grey or white socks or tights.
• All children should wear sensible black school shoes or all black trainers, not flip flops, high heels, boots,  etc.
• In summer, children may wear a royal blue checked/striped summer dress and or  grey shorts.
• Children should have appropriate outdoor wear (waterproof jackets/coats, sun hats/caps)
• Outrageous hairstyles or colours are not allowed and parents will be contacted if children arrive at school with one.  Long hair should be tied back.
• Jeans are not acceptable.
• Jewellery is not permitted, this includes wearing ear rings which must be removed before coming into school, parents will be contacted to remove ear rings.

The uniform has a uniform swap facility in the front entrance to support parents who may not be able to afford new uniform.
